The Calgardup fire was a tough day at the office for members of Yallingup Rural who joined with over 200 firefighters from our sister brigades to battle the flames which devastated many hectares of prime karri forest.
As at 27th December 2021, DFES advice is that the fire is contained and under control with no threat to lives or homes. All-important blackout operations have been conducted but there is some re-ignition in pockets so it is essential to stay alert in case the situation changes.
