AT FIRE CALL
CREW
- PPE
- 4.4- Cold water from fridge as required
- Small CB hand-held radios – 1 per crew member
- If last vehicle to leave – 1 crew member to close/lock all doors as required or directed by crew leader
- Assist with T-card if requested
- Minimise non-essential questioning/discussion during initial departure. Allow crew leader/driver to get everything in motion
DRIVERS/CREW LEADERS
- Senior officer to start designating crew to vehicles based on minimum required numbers:
LT- 2 crew; 3.4 &4.4 min of 3 to max of 6 - Disengage battery charger from vehicle (allow time before starting vehicle as required)
- Drivers – start vehicle and move out onto apron when ready
- PPE
- Waern hand-held radios – 2 in each truck
- Last vehicle to leave – crew leader to ensure all doors closed/locked as required
- Proceed to the fireground when appropriate
- Crew leader to call ComCen and log departure
- FCO/Captain radio call as required at appropriate time
- T-card completion and ensure handed to the Officer in Charge (OIC) or Control Point/ICV at larger fires.
AFTER FIRE
CREW
Upon return to the station
- Assist as directed in refill /replenishment /clean down of vehicle. This is to be completed regardless of time of return to the station
- Uniform area to be left neat and tidy. All PPE away
DRIVERS/CREW LEADERS
Before leaving the fireground
- Crew Leader to ensure T-card is pulled at Control Point with Incident Controller or, at larger fires, with ICV.
- Also, at larger fires, ensure that Sector Commander is aware you are leaving the fire ground
When nearing return to the station (NOT UPON immediate departure from the fireground, just in case!!)
- Crew leader to call ComCen and log off from call-out
- Ensure truck is refilled, replenished, and clean as required for next immediate departure
- Driver – log book / fault book if required
- Crew leader – ensure all radios are returned and back on charge
- Last senior officer/crew leader to depart – ensure all doors closed, locked, and alarm is set
